Short Introduction

The Sun and Moon Love Rite was written by Fred McLaren Adams of Feraferia in 1971 and corrected march 3rd 2001. It’s subtitle is ‘A Rhapsody of the Rose of Radiant Ratios between Sun and Moon’ and is associated with symbolism in classical 17th century alchemical emblem books, such as ‘Atalanta Fugiens’ and ‘Philosophia Reformata’. It can also be compared with the ‘Song of Songs’ of the Old Testament and is about the Kore and Kouros Love Play approaching Glorification in Goddess Aphrodite.

In each phase Kore and Kouros alternate and chant to each other. Whether Kore or Kouros begins each phase is optional. Anointing is done with blessed oil: rose oil and frankincense.

The Rite is used in actual Feraferia Weddings.
