OIMELC
A Mysto-Poetique Celebration of
Amphitrite Kai Poseidon
(by Lady Svetlana)
Priestess: (As Megeia)
This is the mid-season of Winter. The festival of enscaled buds on bare branches. Torchlit processions lead the Goddess out of the Underworld. The head of the holy
Infant drops for delivery. Slush from snows thawing off the heights and mud from new rains signal the bursting of the water bag. It is Luis; Rowan Month on the sacred
tree calendar in the time of Amphitrite and Poseidon of ocean depths and sea storms.
It is the last of the 'Nine Royal Passions of the Year' and thus we may contemplate the love round of the months and their everlasting religion of nature. The Supernal
Lovers are the Goddess of Containment and the God of Penetration. Their celestial Thrones are the Moon and the Sun. They are Artemis and Dionysos, Parvati and
Shiva, Isis and Osiris, and for this season - Thetys and Oceanos. Their majestic watery courtship is perennial sacrament.
The Love round of the sacred year is both a cycle of continuous celebration and a mandala of mystery initiation. The possible meanings are beyond count. Each
landscape composes a unique version of the ageless seasonal poem. True celebrants continually chant this poem from the specific nature inscriptions of their
beloved region. Each love mime of nature and art mixes a magical blend of season, region and urge. Thus the dreams of the devoted and the spirits of wilderness
unite to form the pageantry of paradisal Faerie Land, and every celebrant rediscovers her or his own timing in the timeless dance of the seasons - throughout aeons
of Kore.

The Opening of Temple and Cross-Quarters
(by Fred McLaren Adams)
Priestess:
"The left side of Tauria - Lea opens this cross-quarter season of the middle of Spring and Summer.
Let the Gates of Koreion Aphroditessa reveal the golden light of the early time of year.
The right side of Scorpia - Aquaria opens this cross-quarter season of the middle of Autumn and Winter.
Let the Gates of Koreion Pherephatta reveal the silver light of the late time of year."

The Revelation of the Four Cross-Quarters
(by Fred McLaren Adams)
Adelpha, or 'Sister', evokes the Cross-Quarters upon the four Cross-Quarter Points (points due Southeast, Southwest, Northwest, Northeast).
In accord with ancient Greek tradition, from Anaxagoras and Empedocles to the School of Hippocrates, Feraferia assigns the four Elements to the four Quarters in the
following arrangement:
Air East; Fire South;
Earth West; Water North.
For cross-quarter ceremonies such as Oimelc, the seasonal Fays may be evoked facing the cross-quarter (or inter-cardinal) stones: North-east; South-east;
South-west and North-west.
The evocateur always begins her or his circumambulation of the Quarters at the stone, post or station immediately following the stone of the present season, so
as to terminate the round at the Quarter of the season being celebrated. Thus the 'atmospheric body' of the current season is granted the strongest tincture.
Adelpha:
Facing Southeast or Beltane she intones:
"Sylphs of Air bless this whole planet and its surround
with your purifying ethers
and the activity of achieved birth.
Hathor rules Tauria."
Go around with incense.
Facing Southwest or Lammas she intones:
"Salamanders of Fire bless this earth and sky
with the essence of cleansing heat
and the heated activity of togetherness in bliss.
Sekhmet rules Lea."
Go around with candle.
Facing Northwest or Samhain she intones:
"Gnomes of Earth bless this planet and her environment
with the flora and fauna of soil
and the activity of dying and transcendence.
Selket rules Scorpia."
Go around with sand.
Facing Northeast or Oimelc she intones:
"Nyads of Water bless this whole earth and waterways
with your clarifying moisture
and the activity of repurification.
Isis rules Aquaria."
Go around with cup.

Evocation of Centre
(by Fred McLaren Adams)
Adelpha:
"Zenithides Kai Nadirides
Spirits of the spatial element of plasma
Join hands and lips, bellies and hips
In the Akashic Heart Centre of the body
Where all souls press into the echoing root of Touch and Ether,
From whose feelingful self and quivering flesh,
All Rivers of Faerie into all Worlds flow!"
